The last week of June was an eventful one at the Adlucent office. It’s no secret that we take pride in giving back to our community. But this time, we drew blood doing it! By donating to We Are Blood, of course! We also hosted our ADLuau the day after to wrap up the quarter, island style, with games, delicious food, and refreshments.Lending a Helping Arm
We kicked off Thursday by giving a little piece of ourselves to our annual blood drive. This year, we donated to We Are Blood, which was founded by the Travis County Medical Society in 1951. The We Are Blood bus pulled into our parking lot at around noon, and Adlucites stepped right in to make their donation. Afterward, we were able to cool off from the scorching summer sun with Shaved Ice Island (which is always a tasty treat). What are the benefits of donating blood? Well, according to the American Red Cross, blood is needed every two seconds by someone in the U.S., and one donation can save as many as three lives. Someone is always in need, and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to help make a difference in others’ lives.
One of the many great qualities of We Are Blood is their commitment to supplying blood to the community so we can help our local Texan neighbors! They serve not only the Austin area but 10 counties and 40 hospitals throughout central Texas. If you want more information on how to get involved, read about how to help here.
Getting Down Island Style
The very next day, we were back at it with our ADLuau. Adlucties came in festive attire to fit the occasion and bring a splash of color to the end of the work week. After taking care of business in the morning because our clients always come first, we kicked off the Luau at lunchtime. Adlucites trickled into the sunny parking lot, grabbed refreshments at the Tiki Bar, socialized, and embraced the Austin weather.
Appetites were growing as we awaited our main meal of the afternoon. Our pit masters were grilling all morning for the whole company to enjoy along with sides from local Austin eateries. Once we filled up on lunch, the Shaved Ice Island truck made a welcome comeback. We savored our flavored shaved ice treats and played our island leisure activities to end the day, which included pineapple bowling, tiny-boat racing, and ring-tossing.
To take a break from the summer sun, some Adlucites made their way back into the air conditioning to cheer on the United States Women’s Soccer team during their quarterfinal World Cup game!
All in all, we ended June in the best way possible: donating blood to our community and having fun together at our ADLuau, committing to our motto of “Better Every Day.”
We can’t wait to do this all over again next year! If you want to keep up with all the Adlucent happenings, along with industry news and know-how, follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn for the latest updates.
